Hello, Welcome to FocusFour

Time is precious for everyone, yet it often slips through our fingers unnoticed.

Endless meetings, unread emails, and one urgent request after another. Truly important matters keep getting postponed, and time that should be under our control is constantly being squeezed. In this age of information overload, we need, more than ever, a compass to steady our minds and a steering wheel to anchor our goals.

This is the original intention behind FocusFour.

FocusFour is your focus companion. Through a simple and clear four-quadrant classification, you can easily sort out your priorities and find your own life rhythm. Just like organizing a room, when we arrange tasks according to their importance, our minds become clearer as well.

Why FocusFour?

By observing people around us, I noticed everyone uses various task management tools, from simple reminders to complex project management software. Some prefer pen and paper lists, others rely on phone calendars, and some use professional GTD tools.

Most people face the same challenges when using these tools β€” tasks pile up with no clear priorities; tools are too complex with features they barely use; they spend lots of time on the tool itself, yet important things still don't get done. These observations made us realize that people don't need another complicated tool, but rather a companion that helps them truly focus on what matters.

I believe a task management tool should do just one thing: help you identify what's truly important and get it done.

For regular users, Apple's Reminders app is already good enough, and we don't want to increase your migration costs or make you learn new rules. That's why we chose to seamlessly integrate with Reminders - everything you see in FocusFour is from your Reminders app. No imports, no exports, no complicated rules.

It's sufficiently simple, beautifully designed, and smooth to use.

It's intuitive and supports various forms of desktop widgets.

It supports iOS, iPadOS, and macOS platforms, with data syncing with Reminders and cross-device notifications.

For me personally, that's enough.

Four Quadrants, Four Attitudes

FocusFour is inspired by the Eisenhower Matrix.

The Eisenhower Matrix helps us find direction among numerous tasks. It divides our tasks into four quadrants:

The First Quadrant is for "Urgent and Important" tasks. Like suddenly falling ill and needing to see a doctor, or an important report due tomorrow. These tasks require immediate action.

The Second Quadrant is for "Important but Not Urgent" tasks. Such as learning new skills, planning for the future, or spending time with family. These might not seem urgent, but they deeply impact our quality of life.

The Third Quadrant is for "Urgent but Not Important" tasks. Like sudden meeting invites or colleagues' impromptu requests for help. These seem urgent but often disrupt our rhythm.

The Fourth Quadrant is for "Neither Urgent nor Important" tasks. Browsing social media, reading gossip news. These activities can be relaxing in moderation but shouldn't consume too much time.

Imagine your time as a limited cake that needs to be divided to complete different tasks. FocusFour is like a knife, helping you slice your time cake into four portions, each representing different task priorities.
